President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had declared that his intention to visit all islands in the country and meet with all the councils and Women Empowerment Committees soon, within a duration of one month.

Speaking at Kinbidhoo during his visit there as part of his trip around Thaa Atoll, the president said that he has always desired to work closely with the people.

He said that that was his conduct while serving as the Male' City mayor and that he wishes to continue in the same light as president of the country as well.

“I don’t want councilors to come to where I am to meet me. I want to go where the council is,” said the President.

He stated that he will resume his travels around the Maldivian isles following his trip abroad next month. The president said that his aim is to meet all the Island and City Councils in the country alongside Women Empowerment Committees even if he may not be able to visit each individual island.

Revealing his aim in meeting all the councils in the country, he said that he will inquire about the people’s needs and make efforts to facilitate them while arranging means that ensure easy access to services.

“As such, within a month, I would have met the all institutions and councils that represent and symbolize the people of this nation. As such, working closely with the people will be made easier,” said President Muizzu.

The president's visit to islands in Thaa Atoll is his first presidential travel around the atolls of the country. The president has visited 10 islands in the Atoll and met with all the island councils.
