The Election Commission has decided to set up ballot boxes in six countries and 37 resorts to cast their votes in the March 17 Majlis Elections.

The Election Commission has decided to set up ballot boxes in six countries and 37 resorts to cast their votes in the March 17 parliamentary elections.

This time, the Election Commission will set up ballot boxes abroad in Trivandrum in India, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Bangkok in Thailand, London in the United Kingdom and Dubai in UAE.

Voters who wish to vote in any of these boxes can apply online through the EC's re-registration portal.

Individuals who wish to change their registered voting location for the second round of elections must complete the registration process during this period. Those previously registered at resorts, industrial establishments, overseas, and in prisons have been shifted to their permanent addresses, as per the EC's announcement.

The EC is now accepting applications from those interested in serving as monitors for the election's vote counting process. The application window is open until February19.

In the past week, the ruling PPM/PNC conducted primaries to determine its parliamentary candidates. While the primary for the main opposition party is slated for Saturday, some candidates are actively engaged in election campaigning.
