State reveals special procedures for retired health workers to resume their employment, with a provision allowing them four-hour work days.

The procedures were unveiled by Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef at an event held at the Health Ministry on Wednesday.

Under this guideline, the reintegrated employees are required to work at least four hours a day. Under the framework of “Wage Employment Process,” workers must sign with the Health Ministry or another agency directed by the Ministry.

These employees are provided employment after signing up on the dedicated register.

The Ministry states that without the necessity of a public announcement, out-of-service health workers who enrolled on the register will be granted employment after assessing their educational background and field experience on a merit basis.

This registration is open until the end of this year for those seeking their return back to active health service.

During the ceremony, Health Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel stated that health workers had had to step back from their work due to many reasons. As these employees did not have the intention of entirely leaving the field, Khaleel added that this special procedure allowing their return to work will provide the workers with immense satisfaction.

He stated that this is an imperative necessity the state should provide for these workers keen to serve the country.

Vice President of CHC (Community Health Center), Mohamed Nasih declared that they are working to change the guidelines of CHC in order to implement this over a wide area.

He said that most workers were away from employment due to urgent matters and so the decision to deliver this opportunity through the Civil Service Commission was made. He added that those qualified are guaranteed to secure work under this procedure.
