In order to realize President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's vision, it is crucial to elect a mayoral candidate committed to upholding his manifesto, as asserted by Azima Shakoor, the mayoral candidate endorsed by the Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) and People's National Congress (PNC).

During an interview with Mihaaru News, Azima emphasized the previous political differences between the government and the city council, underscoring the significance of selecting a candidate aligned with the current government's perspectives.
