Ministry of Social and Family Development has launched a new hotline, 1433, to provide quick and easy services.

Minister Dr. Aishath Shiham told 'Mihaaru News' that the ministry aims to serve the people as closely as possible. The first step in achieving this is accountability, which is expected to address and alleviate various issues, she said.

"If we can respond immediately when a citizen calls us with their concerns, it will also bring great relief," she said.

The Ministry of Family Development currently operates hotlines 1,414 and 1,412 for 24-hour and children-related services, respectively.

Hotline 1433 will be operational from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on all non-government holidays. Unanswered calls will be recorded in a separate system and addressed.

Minister Dr. Aishath Shiham stated that the goal is to address all concerns received through the hotline. By early February, the ministry aims to ensure that no call goes unanswered, with a three-tier supervision process in place.

The ministry oversees various sectors, including those related to the care of individuals in society, women, children, the elderly, and those with disabilities.

The minister assured that efforts would be made to prevent individuals seeking help or protection from leaving the ministry disappointed. The priority is to establish the ministry as a reliable resource, even if it takes some time to address specific challenges.
