The President's Office has decided to disclose the details of the state's expenditure on the official visits of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The President's Office said that the information on the expenditure for President Dr. Muizzu's official visits will be announced within 15 days after the conclusion of each visit.
President Dr. Muizzu made his first official visit abroad to Turkey since assuming office on November 17, at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Following his visit to Turkey, he traveled to the UAE to attend the COP summit, which began on Thursday.
Previously, the state did not reveal the expenses associated with the travel of senior government officials. To obtain such information, one had to submit a request under the Right to Information Act. Despite repeated inquiries from journalists, the previous government did not divulge specific details regarding some of its official visits.
