President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu will reside in his own house until the renovation of the Presidential Palace, Muliaage, concludes, a senior official of the new government said.
While the exact duration for the renovation of the presidential palace is uncertain, President Dr. Muizzu will reside in his own house in Maafannu Dhimyaath during this period.
Outgoing President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih exited the palace on November 10.
Built nearly 104 years ago during Sultan Mohamed Shamsuddin's regime, Muliaage was briefly utilized by former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom until the development completion of Theemuge in 1994.
Former President Mohamed Nasheed resided in Muliaage until his abrupt resignation in 2012, while former President Abdulla Yameen briefly stayed in the palace as well.
