President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's close associate, Abdulla Fayaz has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff of the President's Office.

The letter of appointment was presented to Fayaz and other appointees of the President's Office during a special ceremony held at the President's Office on Friday evening.

Fayaz also served as the State Minister of the Ministry of Housing during Dr. Muizzu's tenure as the Minister of Housing. Additionally, he held the position of the PS of the Ministry of Transport during the administration of outgoing President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

In addition to Fayaz, another key appointment was the designation of Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef as the new Chief of Defense Force. Abdul Raheem had previously served as the Vice Chief until his recent promotion.

A total of 14 individuals were appointed to various designations of the President's Office, which include:

1. Minister of Presidential Affairs - former Kelaa MP Ali Arif

2. Minister of Presidential Affairs - Abdulla Nazir

3. Minister of the Presidential Office - former Malé City Council member Adam Rameez

4. Minister of Strategic Communications - Ibrahim Khaleel

5. Legal Affairs - Ahmed Hisham Wajeeh

6. National Security Advisor - retired Ibrahim Latheef

7. Principle Secretary to the President on Foreign Affairs - Mohamed Naseer

8. Principle Secretary to the President on Cabinet Affairs - Ahmed Hassan Habeeb

9. Principle Secretary to the President on Corporate Development - Mohamed Shahid

10. Secretary to President on Social Service - Hussain Amir

11. Secretary to President on Legal Affairs - Abbas Shareef

12. Secretary to President on Public Policy - Aishath Ikram

13. Principle Advisor to President on Trade and Investment - Mohamed Ali Janah

14. Advisor to President on Tourism Development - Mohamed Khaleel

In addition to this, two new members were appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the same ceremony. These appointments include the new Ambassador at Large, Ali Naseer, and the State for Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Shahudhee.
