Urbanco has urged the removal of chairs and tables on the pavement in various areas of Hulhumalé with less than 24 hours until the change of government.

The company announced yesterday that cafes, restaurants, and juice points are illegally setting up chairs and tables on the pavement and along the hedgerow.

Therefore, the chairs and tables placed for commercial use in these areas have been ordered to be removed before next Monday.

Urbanco stated that if the items are not removed within that period, they will affect the clearing up themselves. The company said that they will not assume responsibility for damage to any property during the clearing.

Urbanco has also ordered the removal of huts selling short eats on the beachside of the Hiyaa flat area.
