High speed internet services through SpaceX's Starlink company is now available in the Maldives.
According to the company's website, the service will provide speeds up to 200mbps. The service costs approximately MVR 1000 per month.
Starlink has sent confirmations via email to customers who pre-ordered the Starlink Internet Kit through their website.
The package, which will be shipped within two weeks, includes a Starlink dish antenna, a mount and a WiFi router unit. The package comes to MVR 10,300, including shipping charges.
Technology Minister Aminath Shauna posted on X stating that Starlink would provide "unique solutions for our island nation".

SpaceX is currently providing internet services through satellites to a number of countries. Maldives issued the license for Starlink services in August, becoming the first South Asian country to do so.
