Villa International High School Wins U-19 Inter-School Netball Title

Villa International High School has won the under-19 category of the Inter-School Netball tournament.

In a thrilling final match held at the indoor court of the Social Centre, Villa secured a 51-34 win against CHSE, winning the title. Aminath Aini, the goal-attacker from Villa School, earned Player of the Match.

Villa, who had reigned as champions in the previous year, progressed to the final by defeating CHSE 46-43 in a closely contested semi-final. In the other semi-final, CHSE outplayed Ahmadiyya International School with a score of 52-37.

The U-19 category of the tournament featured a group stage where Villa and CHSE played out a 35-35 draw, along with Ahmadiyya International School.

The inter-school netball tournament includes under-13, under-15, under-17, and under-19 categories. Sixteen schools participated in each of the under-13 and under-15 age groups, while 11 schools participated in the under-17 category.

The finals for all three age groups were scheduled for the same day. Iskandar School and Ghiyasuddin International School were set to compete in two finals, with Iskandar facing Rehendhi School in the Under-13 final and Ghiyasuddin going up against Ahmadiyya in the Under-15 final.

The final matches for the day are:

Under-13 - 1500 hrs : Iskandar/ Rehendhi

Under-17 - 1630 hrs : Iskandar/ Ghiyasuddin

Under-15 - 20:00 hrs : Ghiyasuddin/ Ahmadiyya

Iskandar, the reigning U13 champions, secured their place in the final by defeating Ghiyasuddin 29-17 in the semi-finals, while Rehendhi School advanced with a 30-26 victory over Hiriya School.

Ghiyasuddin, the defending U15 champions, made their way to the final by overcoming Iskandar 39-30 in the semi-finals, while Ahmadiya took their spot in the championship match by defeating Hiriya School 26-14.

In the under-17 category, Iskandar prevailed with a 63-34 victory over Aminiya School in the semi-finals, while Ghiyasuddin secured their spot in the final by defeating Hiriya School 49-25.
