President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday, July 10, has officially launched the one-stop portal for all government rendered services, "oneGov".

The "oneGov" portal was developed by TradeNet Maldives as part of the government's Single Window initiative, completed within a two-year timeframe.

The "oneGov" portal currently offers services provided by five government bodies, including the Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI), Health Protection Agency (HPA), Ministry of Tourism, and the Fuvahmulah Council.

TradeNet Maldives has confirmed that additional agencies and government bodies will be added to the "oneGov" portal in the near future.

Speaking about the platform, its architect Shinaz Saeed said that the concept behind "oneGov" was to create an inclusive platform that provides services from all government bodies from one place. He also highlighted that the platform can be accessed through the National Digital Identity Service "eFaas".

Shinaz said that the staff at TradeNet spent four weeks closely monitoring the services of each government body to fully grasp their operational procedures. He further stated that a total of 111 distinct services from five authorities will be made available to the public through the platform.

The user interface of the "oneGov" platform is designed to resemble a Google-like search engine, allowing users to easily search for the specific service or government agency they need and access them efficiently.

With the introduction of "oneGov", the services provided by different Ministries and government bodies are now integrated into a single portal eliminating the need for users to visit multiple websites or deal with separate documents from different letterheads.

Shinaz said that the services offered through "oneGov" will follow a standardized template. Instead of having various signatories, official documents generated through the portal will carry the validity of a single seal.

The introduction of the digital portal is expected to address the issue of service delays and improve customer satisfaction. Users will have the ability to track the progress of their applications and obtain estimated completion periods.

Shinaz added that with the data logging feature of the portal, employees will have the ability to efficiently track customer interactions and validate their identities more quickly compared to conventional methods allowing greater transparency in service delivery.

The introduction of the digital portal aims to eliminate the need for inter-island travel to access services at government offices and institutions, address challenges arising from lack of information, and eliminate inconvenience of printing forms for service applications.
