The President's Office of Maldives has announced that the anticipated salary increment for university employees will be revealed within the next few days.

The government had previously stated that the change would occur in March 2023.

In an interview with 'Mihaaru', President's Office Spokesperson Miuvan Mohamed confirmed that the government will be announcing the changes soon. He stated that, in accordance with the Presidential Address, the remuneration of the education sector will undergo positive changes, which will be followed by a similar change in the health sector.

In 2022, the Maldives government increased the salaries of the education sector, but university employees were excluded, causing them to express dissatisfaction. However, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih reassured university employees during his Presidential Address for this year that they would observe positive changes in their remuneration in March.
