Malé City Council has announced the availability of 30 stalls for rent at a temporary market in Hulhumalé 2 during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
With over 30,000 residents in the area, the council believes it is crucial to establish a market in the region for the holy month.
The market will have 30 stalls, and the guidelines for allocating them specify that they will be provided to Hulhumalé residents and locals in the area.
Renting stalls to third parties, employing foreigners to operate them, and utilizing them for profit is prohibited, with violators facing fines ranging from MVR 200 to MVR 500.
The stalls will be leased for 50 days, and those interested in renting them should submit an application to the Hulhumalé Section of the council.
The exact location of the market has yet to be revealed.
Temporary markets were planned for Malé and Vilimalé during Ramadan last year, but they were unable to be established for various reasons.
Ramadan this year will commence on March 23rd.
