The body of Nishama Mohamed, who was found dead in Haa Dhaal atoll, Nolhivaram, has been brought to Maldives today after an autopsy.

Nishama, 28, was found dead inside her home. The victim's husband, Aboobakuru Faisal, was the prime suspect in her murder.

He passed away in police custody on December 12, while being treated for suicide.

However, the investigation into the case will continue, the police confirmed.

Nishama's body was taken to India for an autopsy on Wednesday, 11 days after her death. Her family expressed discontent over performing an autopsy due to the considerable delay.

The police have the authority to conduct autopsies even without the consent of the family. While her body was brought to Maldives today, the authorities are yet to make an official comment regarding the report.

According to the funeral page, Nishama's funeral will be held at the Aasaharaa (Machangoalhi) cemetery in Malé after Maghrib prayers.
