Fraudulent shopper: Over MVR 170,000 in transactions

Local authorities have arrested a local individual for fraudulently 'purchasing' items from a retail outlet in Lhaviyani Atoll Hinnavaru.

The individual has used forged Bank of Maldives (BML) transfer slips to acquire multiple items from the outlet.

Authorities arrested the suspect on November 1, meanwhile police confirms the individual aged 30, has been ordered a remand of 15 days.

Meanwhile police website claims the individual is tied to multiple scams and fraudulent activities. Despite an arrest, authorities have not disclosed details of the suspect.
