Nineteen-year-old Maldivian man dies on Tuesday morning after contracting dengue fever.
Adam Viyam from Thoddoo of Alif Alif atoll, had passed away while being treated in ADK Hospital.
An eight year old girl had passed away in IGMH yesterday as well, after going down with dengue. Viyam's death marks the second dengue fatality of this week.
According to Mihaaru news, he had been in the ICU since the end of September, due to his deteriorating health after coming down with dengue.
His funeral service were held after Asru prayer this evening.
The rise of dengue cases is higher this year, when compared to the previous three years according to pediatrician at IGMH Dr. Ahmed Faisal.
