The High Court on Wednesday ordered to rearrest an Indian expatriate worker who was released after his first arrest over forging a fake medical report for his visa.

The expatriate is a staff of privately owned ADK Hospital who counterfeited his medical check-up report to renew his visa. However, he was released as per the order of the Criminal Court last month.

The prosecutors appealed the case at the High Court which later decided to keep him under custody for 15 days to prevent possible attempts to escape the country. The expat has also confessed to forging the fake documents.

Including the Indian expatriate, a Bangladeshi national working in ADK was also previously arrested. However, it is unclear whether the latter remains under arrest or not.

When the issue of fake medical reports was firs raised, Immigration Department had temporarily banned the medical reports of ADK and several other private clinics. During that time Immigration revealed that some medical reports were counterfeited such that dangerous diseases were not mentioned in the reports.
