Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) warns that the South-West monsoon winds have become stronger in the Maldives area and the nation will face strong winds with high chance of surge waves in the next three days.
The national weather forecasting authority had put the whole country under white alert from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm today, predicting heavy rain and thunderstorms with winds of 19-24 mile per hour.

MET said that a large part of the country will experience heavy rain and thunderstorms over the next three days as well. Strong winds and rough seas are expected in the central and northern atolls.
Therefore, MET has advised seafarers to be cautious about the weather. The Met also advised to take precautionary measures to prevent the damages caused by severe rain.
