Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Saturday, June 25, has participated in the leaders' retreat of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The retreat held in two different sessions, was hosted at Intare Conference Arena in Rwanda.
The first session was focused on youth, technology and innovation while the second session was focused on global challenges.
President Solih took part in the event during his official visit to Rwanda to attend the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
In his official visit, the president is accompanied by Maldives First Lady Ms. Fazna Ahmed while the two are flanked by an entourage of high-level state dignitaries.
This also marks the first time the meeting is held following a two-year delay due to the Covid-19 global pandemic. Additionally, this is also the first CHOGM meeting held since Maldives' re-accession into the Commonwealth on February 1, 2020.
