President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has welcomed Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina on Thursday. She arrived in Maldives on Wednesday for an official trip.
President's Office said after the President and Prime Minister Hasina has had their discussions concerning the two nations, they will hold a joint press conference later in the day.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih welcomed Sheikh Hasina who had arrived to Male' today. Various other cabinet members joined the event held to welcome her.
She was welcomed with a 21 gun salute followed by the national anthem of Bangladesh and then Maldives.
Hasina will address the Parliament later today as well.
The President's Office had previously said various agreements concerning matters between two nations will be signed while Hasina is visiting Maldives.
Bangladeshi newspapers reported that Hasina will be signing an agreement that will lead to Bangladesh medical experts to come to Maldives.
