US Aid provides USD 2 million in financial aid to Maldives

US Aid provides an additional USD 2 million (MVR 30 million) to Maldives in aid.

This aid was provided to increase the Maldives' laboratory capacity to help the nation combat Covid-19 better. This aid will also be used to increase the oxygen capacity and to improve the healthcare centers in administrative islands as well.

Deputy Director of Mission of US Aid Debra Mosel noted the aid they have so far provided to Maldives have helped make significant positive changes in the nation.

Various foreign countries have been providing Maldives with foreign aid since the pandemic started. So far Maldives have received USD 519 million (MVR 8 billion) for this cause.
