Maldives began administering the first dose of Pfizer vaccine under the country's vaccination programme “Covid-19 Dhifaau”.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced that Pfizer was now being administered only to those who had pre-registered appointments for it.

The agency had previously revealed those who are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine and asked those individuals to register for appointments. Eligibility details are available via HPA.

Those who register will be contacted by HPA with appointment details.

In March, Maldives received 5,850 doses of the Pfizer vaccine through the COVAX facility.
