The minor was injured in the dangerous accident that occurred in Laamu atoll Kalaidhoo island passed away late Tuesday.
Ahmed Vishal, 14, had been on a ventilator at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in capital Male when he passed away.
He had suffered severe injuries to the head and doctors had earlier pronounced him brain dead without hope of recovery.
He was buried early Wednesday after dawn prayers at Aasahara Cemetery.
The accident occurred in the middle of the night last Saturday while Vishal and two other boys were out riding motorcycles on Kalaidhoo island’s main road. According to the island council, the other two boys aged thirteen did not suffer serious injuries.
