Maldives pres shuffles govt officials in three ministries

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has shuffled some officials at state minister and deputy minister levels and appointed a new deputy to the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture.

According to the President's Office, President Yameen has made three major changes:

Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs, Mohamed Musthafa, is appointed as the Senior Policy Executive at Ministry of Education

State Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Hassan Rasheed, is appointed as State Minister of Islamic Affairs

Adam Haleem Ibrahim is appointed as the Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture.

With these changes, the Education Ministry now has six policy executives in addition to three state ministers and two deputy ministers.

The Islamic Ministry currently has two state ministers, two deputy ministers and an additional four members at deputy minister level.

The Fisheries Ministry yet does not have a state minister. However, it has three deputy ministers and one policy executive.
