Judicial Service Commission (JSC), on Tuesday, announced an investigation over accusations made against Judge Ibrahim Ali of the Criminal Court claiming that he was involved in politics.

According to JSC, the decision to conduct the probe was confirmed on September 9, during JSC's 65th meeting.

Although Judge Zubair's involvement was reported months ago, JSC only tabled the investigation after Judge Zubair wanted to apply for the High Court bench.

Judge Zubair previously served on the Drug Court before being transferred to the Civil Court in 2015.

JSC is presently probing some cases involving judges of other courts well. The commission had in the past terminated some justices over disciplinary violations.
