Privately run ADK hospital announced that it will resume work permit medical services next month onwards.

Immigration Department had earlier rejected medical reports, required for expatriate visas, from the largest private hospital in the Maldives, ADK Hospital, and private clinic AMDC, stating that they in collaboration with Police are looking into cases of expatriates that had submitted forged medical reports.

The department had later reversed the decision, announcing that they have once again resumed accepting medical reports issued from ADK.

According to Managing Director of ADK Hospital Ahmed Afaal, several changes will be brought to ADK's service to strengthen its quality.

Stating that discussions are underway to improve the service, Afaal said, "Though Immigration hasn’t recommended anything, we will begin with changes.”

Immigration currently accepts medical reports from only six places which are state run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), ADK hospital, Hulhumale’ Hospital, Medica, Crystal Medical and Advance Medical. Medical reports of some atoll and regional hospitals are also accepted.
