Opposition visits institutions, calling for ex-pres Yameen's release

The opposition coalition, consisting of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and People's National Congress (PNC), on Wednesday visited various institutions to call for the release of jailed former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

According to local media Mihaaru, coalition leaders visited both Maldives Police Service as well as Maldives Correctional Service (MCS), to call on Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed and Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu, to no avail.
