President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Tuesday, appointed Abdulla Shareef as the Commissioner General of Maldives Customs Service.
Shareef was presented his letter of appointment during a function held at the President’s Office.
Supreme Court Judge Aisha Shujoon presided over his oath-taking ceremony.
Possessing over 26 years of experience at Maldives Customs Service, Shareef served as Deputy Commissioner from July 8, 2019, until being designated acting chief of customs on April 11, 2020, after the death of previous Commissioner General Ahmed Numan.
The Commissioner General of Customs holds the same status as a state minister.
