Privately-run ADK Hospital unveiled an online flu clinic on Saturday.

The clinic offers online consultations for patients exhibiting flu-like symptoms via video calls.

ADK's Managing Director Ahmed Afaal stated that the online clinic was established as it is currently not safe for individuals who develop flu-like symptoms to be in public.

He assured that doctors will provide free online consultations and advise the patients on how to proceed. Should any patient require hospital services, ADK will make arrangements for transfer, he added.

The clinic's services are accessible nationwide. Patients can make appointments at +960 3313553, upon which they will receive a digital queue number. The token's progress can followed on the hospital's 'Ask ADK' platform on Viber, Telegram and Facebook Messenger.

ADK Hospital established the online flu clinic amidst the COVID-19 outbreak in Maldives, which has infected eleven people so far. Maldives announced a state of public health emergency last Thursday, under which the government has implemented several measures, including travel restrictions to and from resorts and banning guesthouses and hotels in the Greater Male' region from accepting more tourist bookings for a period of 14 days.

Maldives has also banned entry from Spain and parts of Germany and France, in addition to China, Italy, Iran, Bangladesh and two regions of South Korea.

Moreover, the government closed down all universities, colleges and training facilities for a period of two weeks.
