Finance Ministry opens GST Act for public comments

The Ministry of Finance released a statement on Monday requesting the public to submit comments to the Goods and Services Tax Bill.

According to the statement, the ministry is currently in the process of reviewing tax-related laws in order to ensure that the country's tax system is transparent, based on fair principles and meets international standards.

Members of the public will have until March 5 to submit opinions and comments to the ministry concerning the GST Act via email.

Considerable amendments were also recently made to the Tax Administration Act while an Income Tax Act was also passed.
