Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) hired Dr Fathuhulla Saeed, Maldives' first consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on Sunday.

Beginning consultations on Sunday, Dr Fathuhulla specializes in surgical operations of the face, mouth, jaws and is the first known Maldivian to pursue the field of practice.

According to IGMH, Dr Fathuhulla can diagnose cancer and provide treatments, operate on defects such as cleft palate, craniomaxillofacial trauma, provide facial cosmetic surgeries and corrective jaw surgery.
