Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale, called on Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid, on Wednesday, reviewing ongoing joint projects and exploring ways to expedite the implementation of such projects.

During the meeting held at Delhi, India, Foreign Secretary Gokhale welcomed Shahid to the city as part of his official visit to India, and conveyed details regarding the upcoming sixth Joint Commission Meeting.
Minister Shahid also expressed appreciation to the neighbouring government for its continued efforts to aid Maldives. Shahid assured his commitment to increasing cooperation between the nations in areas of mutual benefit.
The Minister will attend the Joint Commission Meeting on December 13. This high-level meeting is led by the top diplomat of Maldives and India, respectively.
