President conveys condolences over passing of Saudi's Prince Mitteb

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday night conveyed his condolences to King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud of Saudi Arabia, on the passing of his brother, Prince Mitteb bin Abdulaziz al-Saud.

In his message, the president expressed deep sorrow at the news and offered his condolences to the king and Prince Mitteb's son, Prince Mansour bin Mitteb bin Abdul Aziz.

"At the difficult time for Your Majesty's family I extend my deepest sympathies on behalf of the Maldivian government and people, who join me in praying that Allah (swt) grant Prince Mitteb's soul eternal peace in Jannat ul Firdous", read the message.

Born in 1931, Prince Mitteb was a senior member of the royal family. He previously served as the Governor of Makkah Province, the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, and held various other administrative positions.

According to Saudi media, his funeral will be held at the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Tuesday.
