President Solih proposes names for Privatisation and Corporatisation Board

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Wednesday submitted at the parliament seven nominations for the Privatisation and Corporation Board (PCB).

The nominations are Hassan Waheed, Asim Mohamed, Aishath Shazly, Rushaha Ahmed Shareef, Ali Shafeeu, Ali Shujaau and Ahmed Shareef Yoosuf.

The Board was established under the law of privatisation, corporation, monitoring and evaluation of the government businesses.

The seven members are tasked with carrying out privatisation, corporatisation, monitoring, evaluation, selling public shares from government companies, government shareholding companies and commercial government businesses and all procedures related to these activities under the Privatisation Law.

Meanwhile, the Public Enterprises Monitoring and Evaluation Division acts as the Secretariat of the Board.
