Dhivehi Insurance handed over the insurance claim payment of Fuel Express, over the damages the latter sustained in the fire that broke out in T-Jetty last September.
The claim payment was handed over by Dhivehi Insurance's Managing Director Abdul Wahid Thaufeeq to Fuel Express' Managing Director Mohamed Shihab.
The parties did not disclose the total amount paid as compensation.
Speaking at the handover ceremony held at Dhivehi Insurance, MD Thaufeeq declared that the company strived to provide compensation to its clients as swiftly as possible to enable businesses to keep advancing forward.
Fuel Express in turn expressed gratitude to Dhivehi Insurance for settling the claim payment within a short period.
The fire at T-Jetty broke out on September 30 while a speedboat docked at the port was being refuelled by an oil bowser. The fire burnt the speedboat and three bowsers, while seven people were injured in the incident.
