A tourist was hit by a stray bullet from Girifushi, a military training island located in Kaafu Atoll on Wednesday.
Local media Mihaaru reported via Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) that they have received reports of such an incident, and that the tourist is not in serious condition.
The tourist was in a safari docked near Himmafushi at the time of the incident.
Police also confirmed the incident, adding that the matter is under investigation.
