The new Ambassador of Maldives to Finland, Ahmed Latheef, presented his Letter of Credence to the President of Finland, Sauli Niinisto, on November 1.
Ambassador Latheef conveyed greetings from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives to President Niinisto at the meeting held in Helsinki.
He expressed keenness to work closely with the government of Finland to further strengthen the ties between the two countries.
President Niinisto in turn assured the continued support of Finland to efforts of small island states to address the issue of climate change.
Ambassador Latheef was accompanied by Hussain Jahhaz, the Second Secretary at the Maldives Embassy in Germany.
