Cancer Society of Maldives and Bank of Maldives (BML) on Saturday successfully hosted Pink Ribbon Walks across several locations in Maldives to promote breast cancer awareness.
In addition to the reclaimed suburb of Hulhumale', Pink Ribbon Walks were held in 28 islands in which BML branches are located. During the events, participants were conveyed key health information and the importance of opting for healthy lifestyles.
Around 150 employees from the bank were involved in organizing the Pink Ribbon Walks.
While October is globally commemorated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, several events are also held in Maldives throughout the month to increase public awareness. The Pink Ribbon Walk is among the most prominent of these events.
Bank of Madives has provided assistance to the Cancer Society in order to host events since 2016.
