Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Maldives Dr Saeed Mohamed Ali Al Shamsi on Monday met with Vice President Faisal Naseem.
During the meeting held at the President's Office, the ambassador spoke about the efforts to initiate work at the newly established UAE Embassy in Maldives.
Ambassador Al Shamsi noted that many Maldivians seek employment in UAE from various sectors such as shipping and tourism. He added that strengthening the collaboration between both the countries would further boost economic ties.
Furthermore, he stated that UAE is always ready to provide assistance to Maldives in developmental endeavors.
Vice President Naseem congratulated Ambassador Al Shamsi on his appointment as the first resident ambassador to Maldives from UAE.
He revealed that the government is working on various mega developmental projects, adding that they are especially keen on developing the educational sector and health sector.
Additionally, VP Naseem thanked the ambassador for the continued assistance from the UAE to Maldives.
In turn, Ambassador Al Shamsi expressed eagerness to work with the Maldivian government to further bolster bilateral relations between UAE and Maldives.
