Skate Boarding Association of Maldives (SBA), in partnership with the Women's Football Club, is hosting an event on Saturday to commemorate International Day of the Girl Child.
The event will start at 1700 hrs at the Skate Park located in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale, aiming to provide an opportunity for girls interested in sports activities to experience and explore skating and futsal.
In line with this year's theme 'Girl Force: Unscripted and Unstoppable', trained skaters from SBA will provide an hour of exposure and coaching for the participants. The skaters will also share their stories and experiences at the event.
The association requested the public for their aid in removing the obstacles and barriers for girls and the role of sports in highlighting issues surrounding gender equality.

International Day of the Girl Child is celebrated every year on October 11. The day is dedicated to celebrating girls, amplifying their voice and standing up for their rights.
