Maldives Medical Expo, organised by MV Medicals, is scheduled to be launched on October 18 at Dharubaaruge.
The expo, held for a duration of three days from 1600hrs to 2300 hrs, aims to better inform the public about the achievements and challenges of the healthcare sector through positive engagement.
Those visiting the expo can take part in a lucky draw and stand to win special prizes from sponsors and MV Medicals.
ADK Hospital and Tree Top Hospital are platinum partners of the expo, in addition to Lanka Hospital and India's Asiri Health and Bangkok Hospital. MV Maldives signed agreements with all aforementioned parties on Thursday.
Moreover, Maldives Medical Association, SHE Maldives, Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment will help facilitate the event.
Director of PR at MV Medicals Abdul Jameel announced that that they will attempt to host the expo annually in the future, although the expo failed to take place in 2018 due to various reasons.
According to Jameel, Maldives Medical Expo provides a platform to inform the public on the progress made by the health sector and further plans on improvement.
He noted that, in this age of technology, it is important to share relevant information on social media.
"We see some people criticising the sector as a whole on social media when one hospital makes a blunder. We need to change this dialogue, and bring our achievements to the people as well", Jameel said.
This is the third time that Maldives Medical Expo will be held, bringing experts in the medical field closer to the common people. The two expos held previously were popular among the public.
