First Lady Fazna Ahmed, on Wednesday, attended the closing ceremony of the Mental Health Ambassador training programme which was jointly conducted by the Society for Health Education (SHE) and the Maldives National University (MNU)'s School of Nursing.
During the ceremony held at the School of Nursing, the first lady handed over certificates to 18 participants who completed the programme to become Mental Well-being Ambassadors.
The 10-day training programme was aimed at student nurses and was facilitated by counsellors from SHE.
Topics featured during the programme included mental health and well-being, mental illnesses, trauma, violence and its effect on vulnerable groups including children, coping mechanisms, emotional well-being and resilience.
The programme was included among the series of events hosted to celebrate World Mental Health Day 2019.
