President appoints Deputy Minister of Communication, Science and Technology

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Sunday, appointed Mohamed Shathir as Deputy Minister of Communication, Science and Technology.

Mohamed Shathir most recently served as the Director-General of the National Archive. He previously filled the post of Senior Editor at Voice of Maldives and other similar positions.

Shathir is also a dedicated and prominent individual in the editorial vocation and field of historical research, in addition to completing various programmes and courses in academic and editorial professions.

He serves as a consultant for numerous organizations in his areas of expertise.

In 2017, Shathir received the National Award of Recognition for his contributions to raising countrywide awareness on Maldivian history.
