Judicial Service Commission (JSC), on Wednesday, decided to investigate an additional case regarding High Court Judge Hassan Ali.

JSC is yet to reveal details of the two cases against the Judge.

A committee comprised of the Commission's Vice President Masthoor Husnee and members Judge Mohamed Easa Fulhu and Attorney General Ibrahim Riffath, was formulated to investigate the initial case.

In a statement released by JSC, the Commission revealed its intention to lodge the second case at the committee.

Several local media alleged the case was in connection with the abduction and murder of journalist Ahmed Rilwan.

Judge Ali, a former registrar of the High Court, was appointed as a judge on March 2018.

JSC is currently investigating cases against several judges including Family Court Chief Judge Hassan Saeed, Criminal Court Hassan Najeeb, High Court Chief Judge Shujau Usman and certain other magistrates. Supreme Court Judge Abdulla Didi was recently ousted by the parliament.
