Former Vice Chancellor of Maldives National University (MNU) Dr Ali Fawaz Shareef was on Monday appointed the new Rector of Cyryx College.
An official of the college confirmed his appointment by the council of the college.
Dr Fawaz took post as Vice Chancellor of MNU on July 13, 2015, and served until his dismissal on August 21, 2019, over certain amendments made to the university's regulations.
He attained his PhD at Massey University in Information Systems and specialises in providing higher education in Information Technology Communication in smaller countries.
