Locally renowned Seagull Café on Thursday kicked off 'The Bake-Off Initiative', a special event featuring the skills of Maldivian bakers.

The initiative aims to provide a platform to support home bakers, motivating them to showcase their talents, while providing customers and all visitors with an appreciation for baking and pastry arts with a tasteful experience.

The first event of the Bake-Off is being held from 1200 hrs to 2200 hrs on Thursday, while the second is scheduled for 1600 - 2200 hrs on Friday.

Describing the Bake-Off as just a beginning, Seagull confirmed the company's hopes to hold more events in the future, based on the success of this initiative.

Further acknowledging its status as one of the most established cafes in capital Male', Seagull expressed delight to be in a position that allowed the company to support local bakers and provide a supportive platform.

Seagull Cafe was established in 1994 when Seagull Group took over Gabbiano, the first Italian gelato ice cream shop in Male'. Rebranded as Seagull Cafe', the establishment has since grown into a popular hang-out spot that continues to serve its famous Italian gelato.
