Minister of National Planning and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam, on Tuesday, estimated that 75 to 80 percent of all budgeted projects for 2019 will be completed.
In response to a question posed by Maduvvari lawmaker and People's National Congress (PNC) member Adam Shareef in Parliament, Minister Aslam stated that government institutions are working towards achieving the pledges made by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Moreover, the minister revealed that over MVR 600 million worth of projects were signed and contracted, adding that MVR 563 million was allocated for harbour development.
He stated that 59 harbour projects were budgeted for 2019, out of which 19 projects were contracted, 22 tendered and 18 to be tendered.
Minister Aslam expressed that high-cost projects will be prioritized instead of the low-cost projects planned to commence late this year.
