The Non-Resident Ambassador of Singapore to Maldives Chua Thian Poh paid a farewell call to Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid on Sunday afternoon.
During the meeting that took place at Foreign Ministry, Minister Shahid expressed appreciation for Ambassador Poh's countless services during his tenure to strengthen bilateral ties between Maldives and Singapore.
Additionally, the Foreign Minister recalled President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's successful state visit to Singapore in July, which further helped reinforce the diplomatic relationship between both countries.
State Minister Ahmed Khaleel, Additional Secretary Ahmed Shiaan and Director at Foreign Ministry Hassan Hussain Shihab accompanied Minister Shahid during the meeting.
The Minister and Ambassador also held a meeting in March where discussions revolved around issues relating to the environment, counter terrorism and technical cooperation.
In addition to improving bilateral relations, Ambassador Poh assured at the time that Singapore will continue to assist in the socio-economic development of Maldives.
