The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday, announced that Maldivians would be able to travel to Russia without acquiring a visa starting from July 25, 2019.
The governments of Maldives and Russia signed a Visa Waiver Agreement on June 25, granting a 90-day on arrival visa for citizens from either nation.
The agreement was signed by top diplomats from both countries, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid and Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The government of Thailand also waived visas for Maldivian tourists starting from April 14. Despite being granted a 30-day visa upon arriving in Thailand, tourists must possess a return ticket to prove that they will depart within the period, a passport which will remain valid for a minimum of six months, a complete arrival card and a sufficient amount of money.
